Default Oozing Glue?

I have been making hair bows for many years and sold for a few years ago before getting back into it recently. I don't remember ever having a problem way back when, with my glue showing on the back of my bows, but for some reason lately, no matter how little hot glue I use (Hi Temp), it seems to come out from the edges of my barrette or clip and show a little around the edges on the back of the bow. Of course you won't see this when it's worn and really it's not much in the first place, but I was wondering, does everyone's do this or is it just me obsessing over it and trying to fix something that I don't ever recall having a problem with in the past. I know tape would fix it, but I don't know that I want to go that route for attachment to the clips just yet. Short of not using enough glue at all, I can't seem to stop it from happening. Does anyone have any tips?

Mine do that as well... I'd love some tips.. I guess you can wipe or pick it off but thats time consuming.

I don't know that tape would work to attach the bow to a clip... I only use the tape to line clips.

Thanks for replying. I am glad to know that it isn't just me. For all I know, it may have always done it a little bit, I just don't remember even noticing it all those years ago, lol. It's just driving the OCD part of me a little bit crazy.

I guess you and I are the only ones with the glue crazy problem.
I think my problem is I put to much glue.. but I don't want to put to little and not have enough to make the bow stay attached FOREVER.

No, i have that problem too.
I try not to use too much glue, and the access I leave it there for just a second to let it cool just a bit and then I swipe it off rather quickly with my finger.
It does take some time getting used to, that darn glue is HOT!

Thank you all for replying! I feel a little better knowing it's not just my problem, but I do wish we could figure out a way to avoid it all together.

Happens to me too! And I know about how hot that glue can get! I've burned a few spots on my hand before

I rarely have this problem. Mainly because I'm so OCD that I put the glue in the same place and use the same amount. But, if I'm not paying attention, I also quickly wipe the excess with my fingers. It's so hot but better my finger than pulling on it once it sets and cools. You can't hardly get it off then or it loosens the bow. At least, fingers don't hurt nearly as bad as your inner thigh. (long story on that one)
