Default Poll: What do you use to avoid fraying?

Hi girls! As of now, I am heat sealing the ends of the ribbon with a lighter.. it is quite hard to get the middle of the bow when you cute V style and to keep its shape. So I am comtemplating buying a Wood Heat Tool. What do you use?

I use a lighter! All you have to do is fold the ribbon in half, cut your angle and use the lighter to heat seal. When you open it back up you will have a perfect V. HTH

I put other also...I use a lighter or wood burning tool depending on what I am making and where I am sitting while making it. lol

I heat seal the ends before I fold my bows to keep from burning the finished bow (done that too many times!)

I put other because I use all the above items. It really depends on what I am making.

I used fray check when I first got started and hated it. Maybe I wasn't using it right???? I now use a lighter and have no problems. I'm alitlle scared of a woodburning tool. Much easier with a lighter. (For Me!)

I use a wood burner exclusively now. When I began I used a lot of Fraycheck on my daughters korkers. I found that after several months it seemed to wear off and the ends started to get fuzzy. They are not really fraying fully but they are not clean edges either. I would not feel good anymore about selling items sealed with fraycheck alone.

I started out with a lighter and just started using a wood burning tool last week. its a lot faster. I haven't quite mastered actually cutting with it but hope to soon!

I heat seal before I make the bows/spikes, etc.

I use a lighter. I've tried Fray Check and it doesn't hold as well. PLUS...I love to add a little curl to the ends of my ribbons and the lighter will do this! I haven't seen the point in purchasing a wood burning tool! I also like to slightly burn the edges sometimes. It gives it a distressed look!
