Default What is the best way to make a stacked/layered bows?

I was woundering what is the bow under the top bow you see. It is usually where the spikes are.you really can't see it too well. Is it like a basic boe or the same as the twisted bow that you so see in the center? I am going to attempt my first one. So please let me know what is the proper way to do it.

Thanks Ladies.

It's all preference I think. I did one that was just 2 simple boutique bows stacked. I just did one with my new TOTTS instructions that was following "recipes" of a twisted boutique, spikes, twisted boutique.

I saw one I liked that had the bow "upside down" on the bottom for extra fullness but I haven't tried it that way yet. Darn kids and husband don't realize I need time to play!

My method includes a whole mess of trial and error.

I try different types of bows - a 'regular' bow, the one that's called 'twisted boutique' around here, etc, etc, etc - until I get the look that *I* like. I'm not much for following the crowd though.

Just make sure to write down measurements as you go along so that you'll have your own formula when you create The Bow of All Bows.

I do turn my bottom bow upside down. The spikes won't lay flat if you don't.
Your stuff is awesome. I just went on your etsy site and really like your bows! I love your color combinations too!

I swear I learn something new everyday!

I do the same method except turning the base bow upside down.

I have trouble with the surrounds or loops. I can finally do some with spikes, but still can't quite do the surrounds. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Have you read and tried these instructions? Free Instructions: Loopy Surround-a-Bow Surrounds Surround

I have not quite worked my way up to doing them either, but I will use these instructions when I do get there. lol
