Default Ribbon on metal headband

I hope this is the right place- I searched first and couldn't find my answer but I'm sure it's out there somewhere, so sorry in advance!

I bought metal headbands and last night tried attaching ribbon with hot glue- no go! I read here about 'double sided tape'. Is that what you use to attach the ribbon? The hot glue does not leave the ribbon smooth on the band.

Also, when wrapping ribbon around a band- how do you not have bumps? Am I doing it at too much of an angle?

thank you!!

i had the same problem with the glue. you can make it work if you work FAST! otherwise, the double sided tape is a breeze - i would go that route!

My only advice to help is to try to use a small width ribbon when wrapping the headband. Sometimes the thinner ribbon is easier to work with cuz it's more forgiving than a wider one. Hope that helps you out.

I use the double-sided tape on my metal headbands. Works like a breeze! HTH

I went to 2 craft stores yesterday- both said double sided wouldn't stay...guess they're wrong?! one suggested using a brush and brushing on E6000. that worked ok but the brush obviously kept drying and getting hard! (and also showed through a bit with the lighter colors).
But i'm gonna trust you guys more about the double sided tape. if you say it works- it works! so much easier!
and thanks for the advice for wrapping, i'll try that.
thanks
