Default Spray / stiffen ?

Okay, I'm still pretty new to the forum and bowmaking in general. But I've been "hearing lots of talk" about spraying and/or stuff and stiffening bows.

Would anyone be willing to share what product(s) you use & how you go about this? It might be just what I need to "fix" some of my huge pile of rejects.

Thanks,
Lorrie

Aleene's Stiffen Quick...I buy from Joann's and I think Hobby Lobby carries it, too. This link will just show you what it looks like, I don't buy it from them.

Aleene's Stiffen Quick Spray (Bow, Ribbon & Fabric Stiffener) 8 oz $3.49 / 3 for $2.77 ea.

you can also use hairspray. It stiffens the ribbon nicely.

I use heavy spray starch. Then I put it in the microwave for 1 minute. This is BEFORE you attach it to your clip.

I also had a question on this, I really have never had issues with flat bows but doesnt spray stain the bow or leave little rings. You know when you try to use hair spray to remove a spot it usually leave a ring which then turns into a darker color. does that occur the same with ribbon
