Default Printing own ribbon - stiffness?!?!

I just tried printing my own ribbon tonight. I read a thread here about it, and so I did as the suggested. I went over the ribbon and image then put a pillowcase on it and went over it for about 4 mins. The transfer was perfect - no issues there. BUT...It is so super stiff that I can't crease it or anything. Am I ironing it for too long?? OR, am I doomed to have stiff ribbon just because I am using the transfer paper? Anyone know if I can keep it from getting so crunchy..lol. The ribbon is from Michaels and is not that stiff to begin with. TIA!

I am not an expert but I am wondering if it the heat of the iron that is making the ribbon stiff. Kinda like when you heat ribbon in the oven to make korkers. I wonder if you could cut your time down and still get the transfer to work?

Good Luck

That is what my dh said - almost exactly...lol. I just have no idea how long to do it. I want to make sure my image is perfect. I guess I may just have to play around with it.
