Default Surrounding loops...

I have so much trouble with them, they either come out too tight or way too loose, I try and measure around my bow with the ribbon to see how much I will need, but it never comes out right.

Any suggestions?

TIA.

I measure my ribbon before I fold my bow & then add 2 inches extra for my surrounding loops! I hope that makes sence!

Oh thanks! I'll try that. How do you do your loops? I do them like the tut on hairhardware.com, is that the best way?

I mark 1/4 of an inch from each end. Then i fold the ribbon in half and mark the center. Then I pull each end up to the center and mark the center of that part. Take a pin and put in the middle, do the right then left on top and bottom. Does that make sense?

I add one inch to the ribbon length that I'm using for the bow. I take my ribbon and fold it in half, then fold it again (creasing each time) then mark the creases with a pencil. I start looping towards the center and then do the last two loops. I saw it on a you tube video.
