I've tried lots of methods and found for me theres no quick short cut.

I hand sew each pair of spikes.

Start with the centre spike find the centre make a running stitch through the centre, wrap the thread around the stitches 3 times and pull, this should crease the centre.

Next take the first set of spikes form an x a little narrower than you want the spikes to be and running stich, wrap and pull again.

Continue untill all spikes are complete and then attatch the widest spike first to the base bow by wrapped the thread around it, then the next set and finish with the single spike.

I've found this way gives the best results some people wrap without stiching or use wire but I've never been able to do it that way!
Good luck!

I used this tut: to make the spikes on the bow below. It was my first "good" layered boutique bow (IMO).

Is there a quick way to cut/heat seal these things? It's driving me nuts! I have a wood burning tool that i'm going to try but I don't see that being any easier!
