Default Cheer headband

One of the owners of a local cheer program asked me about a new style of headband that he saw at a competition recently. He said it was a nylon stretch headband that had the team name on it (printed?) He said it seemed like it was raised though. Anyone have any idea what he is talking about?

I don't know about nylon but one of the moms here made headbands with grossgrain and embroidered the team name on the headband. she used elastic on the bottom to make them adjustable.

Look at y e l l a r i b b o n . c o m (no spaces)
if you click on "new stuff", you can probably see one there.
That might be what he was talking about. the "raised" part are the rhinestones

I would also like to know what that material is on the headband and do you think it goes all the way around? It looks like some sort of spandx or something like that? Wonder how it is put on? HMMMMMM

If you're talking about that lime green one, the material is spandex and it is hologram. Very pretty stuff. The spandex is then fused to ribbon. And yes I think those go all the way around.

I haven't seen it in any stores. Joanns has some shiny spandex sometimes but I haven't seen this particular kind. I think your best bet would be to order from a spandex store online.

I would have trouble putting the rhinestones on since they are pretty small. Anyone have tips for that? I use regular rhinestones right now and it is hard to get the hot glue on and then put the rhinestone down in the right place especially without glue strands everywhere.

I have seen in Michael's and Joann's where you can buy the rhinestones already in letters and then you just heat press them on. They have them small and larger. I think this would be the easiest way with these headbands.

Post Re: Cheer headband

Hey,I just found the same headbands on a different site whose pics show the entire headband, including the adjustable elastic.

Looks like the fabric bonded ribbon, sewn to elastic (maybe 3/8" or 1/4") and these little buckle adjuster thingies like on a bra strap.

check it out:

HTH, if you were still thinking 'bout them
