Default My Zipper Tut.. I'm no expert BTW.

First you start w/ a zipper. This one is 9" from hobby lobby. This zipper will only make ONE rose.

Next you will want to cut the zipper to get the pull off.. If you have a rotary cutter use that, but I don't.

Now you will have two pieces and you need to cut the end off one of them like below

You will need a needle and thread.. see pic below on where to start w/ the needle.

Pull the thread as you go to make the "rose" shape.
Once you get toward the end you will have to sew the two pieces togehter.. just like you have been doing and pulling the thread.

REST IN NEXT POST!!!

Continue to stitch until you get to the end of your zipper.

At the end I stich stich the end of the zipper to the inside of the rose to keep it together.. and run a few stiches in the middle of the rose to keep the center where you want it.

Add a piece of felt to the back and you are ready to attach to flip flops, pin back for your military hats.. OR a clip for your hair!

You are welcome everyone I know I'm the best, most awsome, super cool Hip Girl on the forum.

If you want a more professional tut you can check one of these out... I actually watched about the first 30 seconds of a you tube tut and decided I'd figure it out myself as I'm HORRIBLE at following directions. At least that what every one of my teachers in school told my parents.

love it!! could you use less zipper and make smaller ones? so you could get 4 out of the larger ones instead of two and than use them on like bobby pins w/pads? they would look super cute on a headband too...may just have to venture over there and order some haha

No problem girls.

You can make smaller roses if you want to use them for centers or on clips.
