Default Tutu question

I've made bows for years but never a tutu!!
I need to make one for my niece for a school show.
I'd like it to be really full and poofy.
I am best to tie using a loop or a knot?
Also how many layers of tulle should I use on each knot?
Finally how many yards of tulle to get that really full effect? (i'm usuing 6" spools)
Any pictures to inspire would be great!
Thank you!!!!

The yardage would depend on the size... A somewhere around 80 to 100 yards if you really want it super poofy. Some double up or even triple up the layers. I use a knot. Loops slip off too easily, especially when the little girls are running and jumping around. HTH!

BTW, Love your website... Love your bows! I wish I can make bows like you!

I use the 6" spools as well. The yardage will depend on the size. I personally prefer the knot method and I only use the single layers. I don't double or triple, etc. I also use 3/4" non roll elastic. I think my tutus are plenty poofy. You can check my website if you'd like. Good luck!

Erm... I think the way I do them are called square knots? When I learned that knot in brownies, they teach us this saying to remember it.... "Left over right, Right over left". I can't remember exactly what it is called....
