I use Nashville Wraps. I have always had good luck with their tulle. I use the 6" rolls to make my tutus and I use the knot method. I started using their tulle because it's flame retardant and made in the USA (makes no sense since I buy flowers and such that are made in China but anyway). Most tulle that is made in China is not flame retardant (such as Hobby Lobby's tulle). They have a ton of colors too! I haven't timed myself actually but I do use the cardboard method for cutting. Here's one of my tutus for an example!

When I made my first tutu, I bought yardage instead of straight from the spool. It's doable, but definitely time consuming. If you get it by the yard, a trick is to measure the width you want and fold it over and over as if you were making a paper fan, then you just cut it and you have the strips all ready.

How is the tulle from UB? I was thinking of ordering some since it was only $1.75 for 25 yards.

I get mine at Mary jo's. It's funny to hear everyone talk about their dislike for the bolt tulle because I am the opposite. I LOVE bolt tulle. I have been making tutus for 3 years and i tried 1 spool of tulle and didn't like it at all. I buy the whole bolt so I don't have to keep running back for more. It takes me about 2.5 minutes to cut all the tulle for 1 tutu. The tulle from Mary jo's is also made in the USA. I have a closet full of bolts so if you ever need anything last minute just ask since I'm right down the rd :-)

Question for everyone on tulle colors:

shocking/hot pink - is that the same as the fuchsia from gifts international?
Or the american beauty from the other sites?
Need to get more, and trying to find it from the quickest shipper!

Here is a picture of tiny tutu that I made for my son's teacher baby shower. Everybody loved it!!! I used 32 tripple layer strips of tulle. How many strips do you use?

I use 2 or 3 unless a customer doesn't want a really full tutu. I prefer 3, I like the way the knot looks clean and bigger. It's easier for me to satin wrap if the knot is a little bigger. I just do what the customer asks. If they want it really full, they get more strips.

I think someone else called it the cookie sheet method.
