Default For those who use brads for flowers...

For those of you who connect your flowers with brads, do you also use glue or just the brad to hold it all together? THANKS!! ALso, do you just then put your clip over the brad back to hid it??
(THey are called brads, right?)
THANKS!!!!!!!!

Yes they are brads, if you are referring to the little metal things with the fold back prongs. I glue the fold back parts to the underside of the applique, then I make sure to put it on the lined alligator clip in the correct direction so that it won't show.

I have made them and attached them to a flower. I still glue the individual layers of my flower. I then put the brad through the flower and flare out the prongs on the back. To the back of the flower I then add a felt circle. That felt circle is what is attached to my clip.

Thanks, everyone! I made a ton of flowers tonight... will post in a few for feedback. But........ I just used the brad and then glued the bottom with a coating of hotglue, then put my clip on. It was SO MUCH EASIER than glueing all the layers as I had been doing, but I do wonder if it holds up as well. I like the felt idea. Plus... I usually just do a little ribbon inside the clip for grip, but think with selling now, I will need to do a partial cover. Sorry for the ramble
