Default resin vs polymer clay

whats the difference?? is resin a coating? i used kato polymer clay and a mould and the flower came out adorable... only thing missing was the shiny glossy look ... can i just add liquid polymer clay(clear) to give it the shine?

Resin is like a pourable plastic...usually painted.
to get the glossy appearance you just need to spray with some sort of gloss sealant.
But you can get teh same appearance with polymer clay and I'm sure its cheaper...I like polymer clay
