Rhinestones question
I see rhinestones in the middle of flowers and sometimes i see them as a decoration. Also on a plain lined clippie with a tuxedo like top I see that some people add rhinestones to the center... are those hot fix rhinestones? in what size? I dont mind buying a hot fix tool but what size and type of rhinestones should i be buying? what about for flowers that I buy from the mall and want to add a center to, what type of rhinestone is that?

Re: Rhinestones question
I have not used hot fix yet. I get my rinestones from hL usually, and I just hot glue them to the middle. HTH

Re: Rhinestones question
You can use either Hot Fix or regular rhinestones, it's just personal preference. The regular ones are cheaper and easier to find. I'm not sure what the maximum size the hotfix ones come in, but they're not very big. The big rhinestones you see are the regular ones and can easily be put in with hot glue or e6000.

I'm still trying to figure out what size I like best. It totally depends on the size of flower and the look you're going for.

Does that help at all?

Re: Rhinestones question
The big rhinestones are called acrylic flatback rhinestones. The size haloheaven.com uses for the center of their gerberas is 22mm I believe. I have some 12mm flatback rhinestones and those look good on the smaller hydrangea blossoms. I just bought some 4mm hotfix & that size looks good for adding small rhinestones to the centers of bows.

Some woodburners will accommodate hotifix tips. I have a walnut hollow woodburner & the kandi cane hotfix tips will work in it.
