I definitely think double-stacking the bows is the key!

Stacked2.jpgExample.jpg

These were two stacked bows. one is 4" and one is 4.5"

Each bow was two separate loops wrapped around a template & stitched together. I'm so glad you posted that pic. I have gobs of drr & was always too intimidated to try it. My first tbb attempt with 7/8 drr was sad!

They're just the rectangular templates with the notch up the center from tabbytemplates.com.
The OP's example probably used a 3" and a 3.5" bow though. I'm going to try that one today as a sample for my etsy shop. I made the other one to match dd's easter dress

Thanks!

My first million STUNK!! I definitely have to put an extreme angle on them to get them right (for me, anyway!).

That is exactly what I was thinking they looked like! Great job!
Defintely not a pinwheel because they do always come out too flat. If you have the NBNG templates you can also make them using the regular boutique bow instructions (instead of the twisted) which is really similar to this look.

Oh i like how ur bows look, very different from mine but i do the 8 loops and i got those instructions from HG. I have the tabby templates but dont know what you mean about wrapping 2 separate loops on the template. Do i wrap once then another one on top and sew together?TIA
