Question How to spray adhesive on bottlecaps?

I've been reading all of your posts about how to adhere images to bottlecaps, and now I hope you can help me specifically.

I tried scrapbooking adhesive, a recommended gluestick from Walmart, and a recommended nametag label (Avery) that just ran through the printer. None are consistently keeping the image stuck around the edges (even when I rough up the tops with sandpaper.)

I read that someone uses spray adhesive, but it is messy. I'd like specific instructions on how to use the spray. Do you punch circles first? Do you lay them on anything specific? (wax paper?) Do you weigh the caps down as they dry?

Any help would be much appreciated. Sally

Spray adhesive is very messy and would get all over the bottle cap. Try a Xyron sticker maker with a permanent adhesive cartridge. It works perfectly. And it's only about $8-$10 at Walmart or any craft store.
You don't have to rough the tops up or anything at all when you use it.

I'll try the xyron. I should have asked before, does everyone use photo paper? I like the really flush look of the image when I printed it on that label paper, but it was so thin that when I sprayed the triple thick glaze on it, it became translucent (like oil on paper).

The photo paper sticks up quite a bit more. Any opinions?

Yes, I recommend photo paper for the best image quality.

I use photo paper printed from walmart (seems to have less problems). I have used mod podge and the sticker machine - the mod podge moves until it's dry and shows the brush strokes through the resin. The sticker machine did not work for me on the fattened bottlecaps. I think because the bottom is not completely flat, it lifted on the sides. Someone on one of the threads recommended mounting adhesive. I haven't found it yet at Michaels or Joann's so I have yet to try it.
