Question How to take the loops off buttons?

I have finally found embellishments that I can use on 1-3/4 clips, but of course, a lot of them are buttons!!

How can I take the loop hole off the back? I wonder if I can file it down? That may work.

Is there a precision snips that small, maybe used in Jewelry making that I can snip them off with? I'm assuming the buttons are resin.

The company is "JesseJames" or "Dress It Up". They do also have embellishments, but Michaels doesnt' carry much, and if you ask them to order stuff, they say ok, but never get it in. They have no idea how much I'd buy from them if they DID have it! LOL. You can only buy from the Dress It Up site in bulk, and I can't do that.

Anyone have any ideas ?!?!?! Thanks !!!!

I use small wire cutters to cut the backs off things like that ... just be mindful of flying pieces.

What kind of wire cutters do you have? If you bought them in a craft store, is there an equivalent I can buy in a hardware store? I work in a hardware store.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

If you have a wood burning tool that will take them off nicely too.

I use sissors to cut off the loops, and then my woodburner to melt it down flush.

As far as those brands, hobby lobby carries them too You can also try ebay

I used to use a toenail clippers! A large one - worked great! But - even better - go to JoAnn's and buy yourself a Button shank Remover!!!!! Sweet!!! Works like a charm! If any bumps, I use my Dremmel tool to file them down a bit.

I also bought a button shank remover from Joannes and I love it. I also buy alot of my buttons from there to. Sometimes they have them 50% off or buy one get one free.
