Well, you can use any type of box or cardboard piece. For example: If I want a tutu that is 9" long you can measure a pice of cardboard that is around 9-9 1/2" long (you may want a little longer to allow for cutting, knotting, etc.). You then just take your tulle and wrap it around the cardboard several times. Once you have the amount you need you simply cut the tulle at one end of the cardboard. When you unfold the tulle you then have pieces that are 18-19" long. Hope this makes sense? Good luck!

I use a tray or cookie sheet that is 1/2 of the length that I want my tutus, that way you only have to make one cut.

I use tulle on the bolt - cut it to the length I want, then roll it and cut the strips. Super quick and cheaper than the rolls
