I have been having alot of trouble with these bows but I get them now! the thing that helped me alot was Starch!!! I measure my ribbon on the templet then starch it let it dry and then make my bow! amazing what a little starch does for a bow!

I have a question... I am very new to bow making and I have noticed lots of bows like this one that you've pictured have something looking like streamers attached the very back of the actual bow. How do you do that?

Ok I've tried longer loops, shorter loops, 7/8" ribbon and 1.5" ribbon and I CAN NOT GET MY LOOPS TO LOOK RIGHT!

The only way I could get it to look as twisted as it needs to be is to glue the dang thing. This is killing me.

Are you using a template? I don't remember?? If so, go up one size with that ribbon. All in all, its looking great!!! sometimes when you use a template (nbng) and the size of the template is too small for the ribbon, it looks mushed and is harder to shape. But you've definately got the shape!!!!

I have both the TNT templates and the Twisted Boutique templates from Little Pink Ladybug. I can almost freehand one of these (damn lower left loop...argghhh!) but I have to be honest and say the Little Pink Ladybug templates saved me here. Yes, it's an added expense, but I can now do one in a couple of minutes..and keep my sanity :-)

I have the NBNG templates and I still free hand my bows. The templates make the layers look "too separated" if that makes sense. I can't get mine perfect. I feel like I've tried everything, too (shorter ribbon, longer ribbon, stitching, clips, starch). I love Pinkster's bows. I wish I figure out what she does to get them to look soooooo perfect.

The one time I came out with at relatively twisted boutique was totally free hand with written instructions and I starched the living daylights out of the thing when i was done and I still don't think it looks terribly twisted.

See below.

I have the these ones too! i feel the same way. every other bow comes out but this one. i have also looked at the video and it doesnt help me out... what has helped me a little is the figure 8 fold. sometimes i have to redo over and over but this is the closest i get... i have been watching out the this forum and it seems like lots of gals on here use to omgoodness what they called nobo nogo i dnt know... those ones... hope this helps

Okay, this post made me think I really need to take time to practice making these things. I haven't had time to do it a while, so I figured I'd try again today. Here is what I have so far. I would really like for the center crease to be deeper. I think the next one that I make I will make the center stitch a little longer. I did however figure out how to make it a little more perky. I pressed the inside of the loops (top & bottom) to the back more so that the center really sticks up. What do you think?
