Default E6000 and Bow Flip Flops

Attempted my first pair of bow flip flops today. Got a dozen flip flops on clearance at Target today for 50 cents each!
Anyhoo, I used my E6000 but it didn't seem like it was holding right. I clothespinned the bow to the flip flop and am hoping it cures right, but the E6000 seem a bit oily after a few minutes. Is that normal? Does E6000 go bad? It's only a couple months old. I just checked them and it seems to be adhered but just checking if this is normal.

I use it alot, used it on sll of my flip flops last year and never had any come back. Not sure about it being oily. I have several tubes that I work from because I just keep taking into another room and forget so I get another one and then find the first one. They all seem fine.

I have had it harden in the tube on me but never experienced it being oily. I have never had a problem with this glue holding. Once it is on there, it stays.

E6000 can harden and become unsuable but it's definitely odd stuff. E6000 does not dry fast. You have to clip whatever you're doing and it will take a couple of hours before it's stable to at least remove the clip. It takes 24 hours for it to totally cure. It's the only way to go on the flip flops.

What happens when you use hot glue on the flip flops? Does it work?

hot glue just doesn't hold up. I had to reattach the bows on mine. I experimented...It just can't the abuse of walking. Kaylee's had E6000 and the bows nor the ribbon never came off and she wore them daily.

Has anyone tried the flipflop glue that you can buy at HL? Just curious if it works at all?
