Default ? Layering Ribbon

I love the look of a twisted boutique bow that has solid ribbon under printed ribbon.

So how is it done? tips?

Do you tape them together or is it as simple as just putting them together and making the bow without anything that holds the two ribbons together???

I use heat n bond lite when I do this with cheerbows, but when I do it with boutique bows I just hold the ribbon together. It takes a little practice, but saves time in the long run. Some people just tack them a little with some E 6000 but I personally haven't tried this.

This is what I do:

1. Stack my ribbon
2. Put a pin in the middle
3. Fan it out
4. run needle and thread through the middle and crease it.
5. Add to my bow with embrodery thread.

I've used double sided tape and seems to work ok.

It takes a little practice but I just hold it together and do my folds.

sometimes I use the double sided tape which works great but a lot of times I just fuse the 2 ribbons together with my woodburner when I heatseal

It looks better if you can do it without any tapes or glues. At least in my experience. Other than cheer bows I would do them without anything that sticks.

Non toxic glue sticks like you buy for kids school projects work well too. Just glue them together and wait about 5 minutes and they are ready to work with.
