Ok, so it drives me nuts that my allie~errrr woodburning tips get so icky, so I thought I would try to give it a manicure and took an emory board to it and voila, good as new!!

DH looked at me funny as I did it but nothing I do surprises him anymore

Ha ha ha well whatever works right?!?!?! :-) I'm still scared to use mine!! I bought it probably 2 months ago and its still in the box I'm sure I'll burn a few things and myself!!!

Yeah I know I need to. I might play with it this weekend while my daughter is at her fathers. I guess I'm more scared of her pulling it off and getting burnt while I'm using it, she's 15 months old and grabs everything!!!!!

I use a sanding block that you use for sanding down the plaster when you patch walls. It's nice cuz you can buy different grits. Works awesome and two swipes later, clean as a whistle and I don't burn my fingers! That my share for today....

I'm probably not supposed to, but I just use a steel wool pad that you'd clean burnt pots with. Just about effortless, and it comes out great!

Don't be scared to use your woodburner, I've never used anything else and I love it! Although, I do only use it when my babies are napping or when they've gone to bed.

I would also suggest that you use a wire brush. That will save your nail boards.
