Smile Talk to me about the split ring

Ok, from what I've read and from some of the instructions that I have, the split ring is used primarily for safety? so if little ones pull at their necklace, it won't come apart as fast as if it had a regular jump ring?

The only issue I have w/the split ring is that they do not look very professional to me - and this is just MY opinion. But if safety is what makes or breaks a sale, then I'll use them. Do I need to get a special tool to open up the rings?

Default Re: Talk to me about the split ring

A split ring and a jump ring pretty much look the same to me. It's not even so much a safety issue as a quality issue. I tried a few on jump rings and one little tug and the cap would come off. No one wants to be constantly fixing their necklace.

I use a split ring pliers - saves a lot of time.
