Default Attaching flowers to military hats?

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to attach my flowers to the military hats. I've heard some people say they attach a small piece of ribbon or FOE to the hat, but I can't quite picture this in my head. Does anyone have a picture of this that they can show me? I guess I need to see where the ribbon goes, how big it is, and how you attach it...

Thanks so much!

I dont have a picture right now as my camera is charging but I sew a loop of 7/8" matching ribbon to the side of the hat. If you sew it on the top and bottom of the ribbon piece you will make a loop to clip the flower in. I just put the flower on the hat to see where it looked good and thats where I sewed the loop.
Hope that helps. Sorry, I cant post a picture until tomorrow.

I glue a pinback to the flower instead of the alligator clip. They could also use it on a jacket or sweater.

Would you mind posting a picture if you have the time? I still can't envision for some reason. I'm feeling mighty dense right now. lol

Thank you so much! No rush. I have to run out the door in a few minutes for my volunteer time at my daughter's school. I won't be back for a couple of hours.

Really appreciate the help!

Here is the picture of how I sew my loop on. I tried to keep it big enough to see. Its just sewn on the top and bottom of that loop.
Thanks

I glue a circle of felt to the back of my flowers and then glue a brooch pin to that.

Oooooh! Thank you all so much for the help and the pictures. I kept thinking the ribbon loop would go on that thicker brim part that goes around the hat, but I see that you both put yours up a bit higher than that. I also wasn't sure if my ribbon would go vertically or horizontally. Do you think it matters?

The brooch pin idea definitely sounds easier in some ways, but I'm making these for people who buy my hair clips, so pinning the flowers on won't work for me....

As always, thanks for all of the help. I really appreciate it!
