This is the size I do for my daughter since she doesn't have much hair. I use 12" of 7/8 ribbon and do a figure 8 fold.

I also use the figure 8 fold but use 14" of 7/8 ribbon. They basically look the same.

I dont think I am getting it right. I thought figure 8 was used to make a twisted boutique bow, this bow doesnt look like it.

I thought the figure 8 was for the twisted boutique too... Of course I'm confused again. LOL

I use 10" of 7/8 ribbon. Try these instructions. I sew mine, where the instructions just wrap the thread around.

I had pretty good results recreating this bow by doing a pin wheel bow without tails.

Kind of like in this tutorial:
http://www.hair-hardware.com/articles.asp?id=138

But instead of having 2 tails, I just had the two ribbon ends start and end in the middle of the bow. Then I sewed the middle instead of tying. Don't know if that makes any sense, but it worked pretty well for me!

You can use the figure 8 to make the basic bow and the twisted bow. With a twisted you just do sharper angles before creasing.
