Default I startched my bows and all of the patterns blurred

It is all RABOM ribbon, all of the patterned ribbon blurred and fded when I startched and baked them. I have heard people say this happens with dots, but the UB dot ribbon didn't have a problem. Am I not supposed to starch patterned ribbon or is there a trick?

Try starching them after you bake them. I use alot of RABOM and I haven't had any bleed or fade when I bake and then spray with starch when they come out of the oven. HTH

I think it depends on your starch, not the ribbon. Try another brand of your starch liquid. I was all about starching my bows. My most prolilfic customers always wanted them hard, as hard as possible. It happened to me a few times. I switch the starch and it was fine. I guess in some particular brand of starch there is something to interfere with the print

What temp are you baking at? I was baking at about 275 and coming down just 25 degrees to 250 prevented the bleeding I was getting. I also use hairspray which doesn't seem to fade like starch does, but some people say hairspray makes them sticky when they get wet, so its kind of a trade off.

My oven does seem to cook a bit when I cook food, I will try lowering the temp and getting new starch. Thank you so much! My husband thought I was cooking him something yummy and he looked in there and saw bows! He was like do you know you are cooking your bows??!

That's not good! I haven't baked any that have prints. I usually just bake the solids. I starch with stay-flo, my mix is heavier than 50/50 I think it's more like 70/30.

HAHA! My husband has come home from work thinking this as well!

I have a problem when I bake black ribbon with white dots, it always comes out with grey dots. I tried lowering the temp all the way down to 200, but then they have to stay in forever to get it to hold shape and it still bleeds
