Default Help with interchangable headbands

When making your nylon or crocheted headbands interchangable do you actually glue the piece of ribbon to the headband or do you make sure not to get the headband so they can cut off the piece of ribbon if they want to?

Anybody have an easy way to do this??? Everytime I try I burn my fingers and it doesn't turn out the best.

Thanks

I am not a huge fan of the crocheted headbands, but I stitch my ribbon on the knit ones. Try that and save your fingers,

I don't all of my made stuff is at my daughters house. I keep it there cuz that is where we sell the most goodies. It really is very simple though. Where your seam is, you take a 3/8 in piece of ribbon, heat seal the ends of course, lol and on the under side you stitch one side of your ribbon lengthwise, going up and down a few times, and then bring that ribbon over the top and back to the underside, tuck the heat sealed edge inside so it does not show, and stitch it there not going through the headband. You want to be able to slip a clippie into the loop on top. I hope this is clear as mud.

The crochet ones, you don't have to do anything to them. They are already interchangable with the holes in them. The others, I glue the ribbon to the headband only on the bottom though and always over the seam.
