Default Wooden bow holders

Those of you who make these do you prime the wood before painting it? Or put something underneath the top coat?

I usually don't prime the wood. I buy mine from hobby lobby so usually they don't need to be primed. You could upt a coat of kilz on it or something to help.

Good luck!

I haven't been priming mine either. Just a couple coats of paint usually does the trick, with a glaze as a top coat.

I don't prime either. When I paint the naked, unfinished wood, I just sand it, so it is very smooth. I'll paint the color and then add a shiny top coat. They also have a glittery finish sealer, which I use sometimes.

Where and what kind of glaze does everyone use?
