Unhappy problem with my lined clippies

I recently noticed that in some of the lined clippies I made for my kids, the ribbon is starting to come unglued from the part where you pinch to open the cllps I use the double stick tape to attach the ribbon. Can anyone please help me with this? I have to be doing something really stupid because no one has had this issue before!!!

My clips pull away at the bottom. What glue do you all use?

Hot glue doesnt hold very well on my clips.......
Tape holds better for me than glue.

Tape holds well for me but I clip the pinch parts with two more clips to make sure the tape really sticks to the clip. Does that make sense? I leave the clips on usually overnight and so far, so good. Nothing has come apart.
