I also wrap around the clip.

I wrap around the clip. But I glue one end of the center to the back of the bow and use the other side to wrap around the clip. That way it isn't so bulky and the clip closes correctly. I used to put my bows on without doing that but I had a few of my dd's fall off so I decided to add the extra little step for precaution since I sell a lot of bows!

I used to do it that way, but now I've been glueing the bow right on the clip with a combination of e6000 and hot glue. The bow is not coming off!

I got a bad batch of alligators, and my customers were coming back to me with their broken clips. Anyway, now I'm leary of overusing the pinch spring! For awhile there, I didn't want to use alligators at all!! But, I'm slowly regaining my trust in them.

Who knows. I might just go back to wrapping the centers around the alligator! LOL

Thanks for all the responses ladies! I think I am going to continue to stick with gluing the finished bow onto the clip, it is just easier for me. I tested a few tonight by tugging and pulling and trying to get them off the clip- and it was nearly impossible! Those suckers are glued on there good!

As I say before... THe thread and the needle... GO back to Grandma´s solutions: Sewing... Sew in the middle and in each of the holes of the barrette.

i have started making bows for my 3 month old daughter and i think it's easier and cheaper for me to make a small loop on the bottom of the bow so i can use the same lined clip for several different bows
