It says right on the tube that it contains a chemical that the state of California recognizes to cause cancer.

I always use just enough not alot and quickly replace the cap. If i get it on me, I always wash my hands. Before I put any bow out there to the public, I make sure that it is aired out well. Hot glue just didn't hold for long and it scared me to add on stuff knowing little ones could pull them off. That is the only time i use it, i would NEVER make a bow with it.

Embellishments for the center, like footballs, etc. I made some clips for my girls and added abc plastic letters and my 2 year old pulled them off the clip. The crochet flowers I did for their clips has stayed so I use hot glue for fabric based stuff and if plastic is involved I use E6000, just the miminium though, it smells so bad, I try to work as fast as possible and make sure that no glue can be seen coming out from under the embellishments. I would love an alternative though.

After that I glued all centers with E600, I hope I run into that lady again!
Wow! I can't believe she did that to you! I hope she paid for that bow that she ruined!

I use the hot glue gun for everything so far. Every time I try and use a different type of glue- it doesn't work.

As for the lady and the Dora bow- that SHOCKS me! But- at the same time, I can believe it. My mil makes jewlery, and one time a lady came up to us (at a craft show) and said she made jewlery also. She said that hers was better- and she would bring us a few examples. I was all ! How rude! LOL She never did come back. The nerve of some people!

This gets me. I don't understand why they do it. My first couple of craft shows I made diaper cakes and diaper wreaths and everyone commented on how cute they were.........then they started in with the so-n-so made these for so-n-so's baby shower. Or look how cute that is.....bet we could make that...... Then GO and make it YOURSELF and keep your mouth shut!!!! Sorry...had to vent for a minute.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner! I had forgotten about this thread. So I went to walmart and got a cheapie high temp glue gun and I haven't had a problem. Guess mine wasn't hi temp after all. I've also started to fully line then using fabric tac on the part that goes under the clip and hot glue on the rest. So far so good.
