Question Hairbow holders

I'm going to make some wooden plaque hairbow holders, but was wondering what kind of paint to use. I'm thinking acrylic in the plastic bottles, but could be wrong. Any tips? Thanks!

I use acrylic and there was a lady on before that does AWESOME wooden painted plaques and letters and that's what she uses and ceramcoat to seal

This is her explanation from the old thread...I 'll post a link in a minute- it may have some other info you might find useful- it's several pages.

I use Delta Ceramcoat Gloss Interior Varnish. I've never used paint pens, but it does not make my acrylics run. For some reason, I have had colors run (black/white) when I use the Satin Varnish and the Matte Varnish. Strange! The Delta products also have the AP rating which is important when making items for kids. I have not been able to find a spray gloss with that rating. It would make things so much faster!

Yeah, she's amazing. I was reading a thread on the etsy forums a while back. She was overloaded with orders and had just been given a huge wholesale contract to design a new range for some store. One day when I have extra money (which is never going to happen if I keep participating in group buys!!) I'll buy some of her letters for my kids.

Thanks for posting that! So anybody else try the paint pens? I'm guessing I should stay away from those because of running??
