Put an eraser on the back of the straight pin it helps keep everything together so that you can shape it and not worry that it will completely fall apart on you.

do you have a picture of that? I am a visual learner I have adhd and it really helps to see it first so I can get the image in my head otherwise I will spend all night trying to visualize what you mean lol
