Default Anyone else's bottlecaps coming off quick??

I have made a few of the bottlecap bows and at first I didn't clean with alcohol and after a couple of hours of wearing it, the bottlecap came off. So, the next time I made it I cleaned the cap good with rubbing alcohol and then I hot glued the ribbon in and put it on. It felt really secure after it dried. But, when it was worn for 1/2 an hour again it fell right off! I just did one using the Magna Tac, but haven't had it worn yet... Is everyone really getting them to stay on with hot glue alone???? THanks!

I honestly have no clue. None of mine have fallen off with the hot glue yet, and I've passed several around to friends as 'testers.'

This is one of those things that seems like there's some secret way of doing it, but no one ever wants to say what.

If the hot glue fails for me, I'm going to try doing it the same way I do with the hot glue, except with Envirotex Lite to hold in the ribbon I use to hold the cap to the bow. It'll take a lot longer to dry, but it's worth a shot.

I haven't ventured into the bottlecaps just yet, but my idea would be to put ribbon across the bottom of the bottle cap(the indented side) and fill the bottle cap with either poxy or hot glue where the ribbon is underneath all that. Once it dries put hot glue on center of bow then wrap the ribbon around the rest of the bow like you would if it were the only center.

Does this make sense?

I agree- E6000. I used hot glue on my first bottle cap and the thing fell off within 5 minutes. I bought some e6000, and at least 10 wears later, it's staying on the bow strong.

thanks guys. I was actually following Tonya's method (thanks for all the great tips by the way!), but I think it is the glue that just doesn't hold or something... I'll have to look into Envirotex Lite , is that easy to find? I may resort to E6000 if Magna Tac fails, but I want to avoid hte fumes if possible (small house + winter time so no open windows..).
