Talking Cutting Korkers

How do you cut your korkers? Do you stretch out the ribbon or leave it korked?TIA

I measure where I want to cut it and then hold the section down flat with my thumb and pointer finger. Then I cut if at a diagonal with my woodburner.

A couple of the girls said they cut it on the dowel with their woodburners after it's been baked. They just count 'the curls' for measurement. I haven't made a korker in a while but I baked it, took it off the dowel, stretched it out and measured and then cut. I want to try cutting it on the dowel next time and see if I mangle it too much.

I cut mine while they're still "korked" and then seal the ends.

I lay mine out, measure, and then lay a ruler across where I want to cut. I use a rotary cutter 'cause it's faster and easier than doing them 1 at a time. After my korkers are made, I then trim the ones that are a little too long and heat seal.

Here's one that hasn't been sealed yet...
