Default attaching korker question

Okay, so i have been struggling with korkers all night, my elastic broke a zillion times, the 1/4 ribbon looked wonky.... on and on and on. so i finally broke down and just used the sewing method. Here is my question, how doyou attach the korker to the clip after it is sewn?????

Thanks!

Jamie

I only sew because after working for hours korking and korking then cutting and cutting then sealing and sealing my dd took it all apart!!! Anyway I use the bottom ribbon and line it up with the clip so that two solid ribbons bond. I ussually apply the glue to the clip, lay the korker upside down then line up with the bottom ribbon. I know that makes no sense but its late I really hope that helps you!! Good Luck

I have the same problem with elastic breaking. I have never tried it on korkers, but hoped to. I sew the centers of all of my bows now- sometimes it takes longer because I realize the loops aren't even and I have to take it apart and do it again, but it's less frusterating than the elastic breaking and the whole thing flying away!

I basically do the same thing. I just line a clip with one of the ribbons I used in my korker. Then I just glue it to the bottom of the korker.

I also sew mine. They are much more sturdy and kids can't pull them apart. Plus, they just stay together better.

Same. PB1 handed her mom a fistful of korker ribbon from one of the first ones. Been sewing ever since, lol!

Thanks everyone! Does the korker stay on the bow, i.e., can't be pulled off with the glueing?

Thanks again!
Jamie

I do mine a bit different and basically work it like a normal bow center except from the bottom of the bow.

The first piece of ribbon I put on the bottom of my korker is just a small piece of regular 3/8ths ribbon. Then I do all the korkers, sew through the whole stack a few times and knot on the bottom. That little piece of regular ribbon becomes just like a bow center.

Just glue the korker on with a dab 'o glue, making sure the little uncurled ribbon is perpendicular to the clip, and wrap the ends of it underneath, trim any extra, and glue in place like you would any other normal bow center.

This just gives it a bit more hold in my opinion, and even with substantial pulling (I do test pulling on everything to see if it will come off easily) they don't budge a bit!

Does that make sense at all? Wait! I just realized I may have pictures! Ooo, I do - yay!

I put them in this thread: http://hipgirlclips.com/forums/how-m...html#post39047

Oh yeah, definately! I put most of my korkers on alligator clips - that just happened to be the one on the table when my friend called for help.
