Default Earring tree holder - how to make?

I make little dress bow holders and my friend suggested I incorporate an earring holder into it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use? I'm thinking that you could poke an earring through the grosgrain ribbon but I don't think it will hold up too well if you have to keep doing it. What to use - what to use???

I made hanging earrings holders one year for Christmas presents when I was in college... what I used for the center part was screening mesh from the hardware store. I just cut it a little larger than the opening and glued it on the edges. (I used embroidery hoops for the frames, and then used a ruffled trim around the edge for decoration.) The earrings go through the holes in the screening, so there's not much "wearing out" to it.
Hope that helps!

So here is a picture of the bow holder that I make. I found a link to a bow holder that was made out of lace. I was thinking that I could put some strips of lace ribbon between the grosgrain ribbon. What do you think?
