I'm a writing tutor, so I, too, am very anal about spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I only correct when asked though. So since you asked... I believe mar-leabowtique is correct. Clippie/clippy isn't actually formally recognized as a word that I have found in any dictionary, so I guess we can only judge it on how it is usually spelled. I see clippie most of the time, and when I went to just now, there were some ads with clippie in them-nothing for clippy.

Now, go wild: Spell that word any ol' way you wish!

I am a clippie kind of gal. I agree with the others, I just think it looks better.

Plus, I have seen some in Target and Walmart and the card they are on had "Hair Clippies" on it.

LMBO. Here's my vote: Clippy for singular, Clippies for plural. Think of the no slippy hair clippy brand. Are they the original? Does anyone know?

I like clippie. Don't know why...maybe because it sounds more like what a little girl would say.
