I thought about spraying mine, but at one of my craft shows there was another vendor there and people were coming to my booth and buying korkers like crazy, I just figured 1. she didnt have any or 2. they were way higher in price.

But then I started having people say that her korkers were hard and they were worried they would poke their kids head. I went walking around after my sister got there and her korkers were very stiff, I would have been afraid of them stabbing my kid too!

I dont know if she was overdoing the starch or what? but I just never even tried to starch mine after that.

I don't starch and never have. I wet my ribbon before I bake and let it cool completely before I unwrap. I don't like to stiffness of the ribbon when starched and it yellows over time. I use enough pieces in my korker bows that I don't have a problem with the shape holding.

Same here. Plus, I dislike the thought of starch on the ribbon, as a lot of my clients have young children. Who wants their children ingesting starch, in case one ends up in the mouth of a child who is teething? Yes, it's the parents responsibility to keep them out of the childs mouth, but I'll do everything I can for them to be safe, just in case...
Just my 2 cents worth...

Wetting the ribbon helps keep white dots...white. i don't have bleeding on the dark colors or red.
