Default Need Help Covering 6 foot table

Can someone tell me the easiest/most inexpensive way to cover a 6'x3' table. There is a big warehouse here that sells fabric very cheap. It averages $2 - $3 a yard. I just have no idea how much material I would need. We tried to do this one time before but now we need to change the coloring to something darker for this upcoming show. Also, when we covered the table before we did it from the back edge forward to the ground. We left the back where we sit without any material. It turned out fine except that in the front corners it seems like the material was to long. It was really dragging on the floor. Do most people leave it like that or does it need to be sewn differently? Sorry for so many questions, none of us sew very well.

the 6 feet is two yard, the 3 ft it one yard then you need the overage for it to come to the floor. I measure from the floor on the side across the full 6 ft and down the other side so you know how LONG it needs to be, that is where I get my yardage

you can either at walmart or at joanns get county cotton for 1.99 a yard. Also if your apart of joanns mailing/email list you can get 40 to 50% off what your buying.

I bought 2 twin sized sheets in black from walmart for $4 each and then topped it with a damask-print fabric from hobby lobby....I can't remember how much I paid for the fabric but they let me use the 40% off coupon....I just hemmed the edges. Here is a pic:

You could round the edges instead of the square that they already are. That should help take care of some of the extra fabric that kinda drags.

Thank you ladies so much for the great advice. I actually decided to go with a tad bit smaller table that I had around here. I am SO excited. My new color scheme is zebra, lime, aqua, pink etc. I went to Walmart and bought a black twin size sheet which fits my table perfectly. I then bought some zebra material to lay as a table runner. My friend who does the show with me, bought us some hot pink feather boas to put around the edge of our table. I can't hardly wait to get it all set up.

To top off the whole booth, we are putting turquoise garland around the whole top of our gridwall set up (all 30 feet). To that we are attaching funky christmas flowers, glittery leaves, christmas balls etc all in hot pink, lime, silver and aqua. I think it will turn out really nice. I can hardly wait. Finally things are coming together nicely. Now, hubby thinks I'm retarded but I told him all I needed was a 10x10 either black rug or zebra print rug to lay on the floor. He's like babe that's a little overboard. I said well a girl can dream can't she. I have a top of the line carpet shampooer so it couldn't be all that bad shampooing it what maybe 15 times a year since I wouldn't be able to use it at my shows that are on grass. Anyways just a dream. I am so far over budget that it definately won't be happening this show.

Thanks again ladies for the great advice!
