Default Fabric Flower Help

I've been see these cute fabric flowers and followed this tut http://kindawonderful.typepad.com/pi...fty-flo-3.html
Mine just aren't coming out right I'm doing 6 petals and I just cant seem to get it pulled together tight enough I tired sewing each petal separately and then all of them together and it still doesn't look good, kinda lopsided and loose. Take a look at one of mine and maybe somebody can give me tips or insite what i'm doing wrong thanks

Can't help you on advice, but I love the fabric! Love how Santa is "peeking" out on the one petal

Try sewing them all onto one piece of thread. I would use buttonhole or upholstery thread to make it stronger. Then you can pull them really tight.

I made another one used a little bigger circle sewed them with on thread tied each one off before starting a new petal looks much better. I want to use them on dog collars so i dont want them to be all floppy, now to figure out the best way to get rubber bands on it.

Maybe this will help.. try putting them in just one thread and squeeze them together and tie a not..cut the thread and make the circle until you get it right and sew it separately stitching where you think it needs without worrying that the petals will come off. hope this made sense

I have never seen them done using circles. I use 3x3 squares.
