Default What size cuts for partially lining?

What size cuts of 3/8" ribbon do you use for paritally lining alligator clips? Ive been using 4.5 " cuts, is that what most people use? Im just trying to find a size to stick with since im having my machinist boyfriend make me a woodburner friendly clip liner helper and i want to be able to slide my ribbon into the slots (which will be the length of the ribbon cut size i use) and be able to cut with my woodburner without having to measure. Ill share it once its done too Thanks!

I do 4.5" also. I also do a little bow on top of the clip and make that ribbon 3", for the center of the bow I cut the ribbon 1 1/4". I hope this helps.

I must be the only one who make theirs 4.25". But then again I also line my clips upside down (so the flat part is up to put the bow/flower on).

Nope not the only one. I line my clips upside down too and sometimes cut 4.25, or rather I prefer the 4.25 length but cut closer to 4.5 so that once I trim and heat seal it is the perfect lenght.
