I will take a pic of an unfinished korker for you later tonight, hopefully. I'm slammed with bow orders!!! I'm thankful though. Saving up for day after Thanksgiving!!!

I make these sitting on the couch watching TV . I poke the dental floss-threaded needle in the arm of my couch, point up. Then I stack my strands of korker on the needle, piercing through the center of each piece with spirals going up (you'll figure out what looks good to you). These pics show what a stitched korker looks like.

The top is the one where I'm separating the spirals to see the middle. Not very visible when the spirals point upward. The bottom has the knots. The knots will be submerged in hot glue right on the clip.

As you can see, I forgot to use a piece of scrap 3/8 on this one (this idea is something pretty new to me still) so I'll just cut down the bottom kork and glue it to the clip.

HTH! If you get stuck on anything post or PM me pics & I'm happy to help troubleshoot.

I have trouble with reds bleeding on to whites when I'm baking the ribbon. Any tips on how to avoid this?

Don't stack the light colors ontop of dark
or bake them in a seperate batch ....

I damn near burnt a batch last night .... but some of it was cheap ribbon, and I left it in a little to long

but I had lights and darks all in one pan, just carefully stacked so they didn't touch.

Sorry I didn't clarify what I meant. If I have red ribbon that has a lighter print on it, the red will bleed on to the print. I've had that happen with a few different types of red ribbon with the lighter print just wondering if I sprayed the starch if that would keep it from bleeding.

Go buy yourself an oven thermometer. Bet advice I can give anyone. I lived in my apt for 7 years before I purchased one. You ca't imagine how many batches of cookies I have thrown out because of them burning. I also use an egg timer too cuz I always get busy doing something else and forget what time I put them in. I just got a new stove and found out the temp is 25 degrees cooler than it should be as well. Glad I had my thermometer to check it out before I baked anything.

Good news is, I have a brand new oven in the basement. Bad news is, I am not sure when it will be installed, there is some re-wiring of electrical circuits, etc. to be done in the process. In the meantime, I've considered buying korked ribbon....but I think I'm still too cheap!!

Unfortunately, no. I've had bad luck with scrolls & white swiss dots. Especially navy, black & red. They just bleed if they get too hot. Reduce your temp to 260 & see if it bleeds. Just toy with it to see how low you can go and still get the poly chains to re-fuse properly in the polyester.

That is a great idea! I actually got one for Christmas one year & I should do a test run with it to see if my oven is accurate.
