I have put ribbon through my crochet hats and have glued and reinforced with sewing, but have read that some just tie the ribbon? I was wondering which you have found to sell better, or why you chose which way you make yours. I am making more for two shows this weekend. Help? and thanks.

You can weave ribbon through, then tie a bow in front. Leave the ribbon a little loose so it streaches with the hat, but not too loose that it looks sloopy. If you don't want the ribbon coming out, add a stitch to the inside of the bow or glue it. I hope that is clear enough. I make kufi/beanie hats, if anyone needs any.

OK...I wrap 3/8" ribbon between the wholes on the kufi and tie it off to neaten up the ends of the ribbon. But when we put the kufi on my niece we couldn't get it over her little melon. The ribbon was too tight, so I loosened it some, but we still couldn't get around her head very easy. Does anyone else have this problem? If you make it real loose it ends up looking like it's well, too loose and sloppy. Any ideas? Sew elastic to the ends? Vanitha, yours always look so beautiful. What am I doing wrong?

I sold my Kufi hats with extra ribbon hanging down and explained to people to fit the hat over the head, then tie the ribbon in a knot. Then use the flower to cover the knot. Many people commented they liked the look of the extra ribbon hanging down, but I personally, don't like it lol.
