Question benefit to no slip grips on top or bottom?

Is there a benefit to adding no slip grip (whether it be silicone, carpet tape or velvet etc.) to the top underside of clippie or to the bottom inside the clippie?

I see them in tutorials on the top mostly, but have seen them on the bottom too. Just wondering what's the difference?

I always put the no slip on top...that way the botton is free to slide into the hair.

ditto.
I bought a clip that had the no-slip on the bottom and immediately thought to myself "did she mean to do that?"

I prefer it on the top of the clip...to me it is both more functional and looks nicer.

I think it's better on the top too. That way you have no problem slipping it onto an interchangeable headband.

If it is on the bottom, it won't go in as smoothly. I prefer top.
