Default Does it have to be grosgrain for critter clips?

Does grosgrain just work better. I have some satin ribbon I'd like to use up. Will it work with the critter and other boutique clips?? I thought I could make some cute little dragonflies with it.

Sure, you can use satin ribbon. I spray the fabric stiffener on the dragonfly wing below.

Sometimes you just try it to see what it looks like. You may find something new for us to do.

That sounds like it would be cute. I find that I just don't have the patience for satin ribbon. It slips and slides around too much for me. I'd love to see pics when you get it done.

okay! I have a butterfly and dragonfly wings done. I will have to do the body's at a later time, but I promise to post when I finish them both (probably by Saturday).

It wasn't too bad working with the ribbons. Once I had the folds how I wanted and went back and put a dap of hot glue at each fold. Can I use hot glue? I know most of you use the other stuff. I tried Aleene's tacky glue-didn't work sew well for me.

Thanks your your reply. Can't wait to finish my satin bugs!

I use hot glue too- I live in a small town and have to order all of my supplies So! While waiting.. I can't just sit around and look at my ribbon all day. I have to do something with it! I was having problems with the wings and satin ribbon. I never thought it was because of the slipperyness (is that a word? lol)! My grosgrain wings look great! Oh..and with the hot glue- the glue gun always seems to ooze hot glue- so I just put a small dab on there. I don't have to squeeze the trigger.

I sew my wings together sometimes on my dragonflies and butterflies and that seems to work a lot better then making a glue mess.
