Default Sewing bows question?

Ok so all I have here is crossstitch floss. Should I use one strand doubled over? Two strands? What?

Also for the future I would like to know why you use what you use to sew. elastic thread? floss? thread?
Thanks alot for the continued help!!!
April

Dental floss works great! Give that a try. I have used the embroidery floss and sometimes when I pull tight it breaks or slips. With the dental floss especially the waxed, once you pull tight it will actually stay while you tie your knot without slipping. HTH

I use "heavy" thread to sew my bows. If that is all the thread you have just try it and experiment. It is probably a little more difficult to thread it in the needle. One time I used just a regular thread from my purse sewing kit and it was awful!! it kept coming out the other end of my bow..ugg! you would think thread is thread but that is not the case, your best bet is a heavy duty thread. hope this helps!! Happy sewing

I use upholstery thread. It's heavy-duty, so little chance of breakage.

Thanks ladies. I actually have all three. I dug out my sewing supplies, and have some heavy duty thread, no label so it may be old as dirt, but I'm just experimenting.
Thanks

Two words: Gator Bite! I have never sewn mine. I use my NBNG templates to make the bow I want, clamp the bow with my Gator Bite, slide it off the template, then I tie it with 1/8" ribbon (or you can use whatever you want to tie them). It's the best time saver and your creases come out perfectly.
