Default Question about fabric flowers

I love the fabric flowers I have seen on here and have ordered some but I thought I would try my hand at making them to. I can't seem to get the center small enough.

Do you have any suggestions on what I can do?

I do think I will be ordering all my flowers from someone else though I just wanted to see if I could do it.

I use a strong embroidery thread that won't break when I pull to tighten the petals and that allows me to have a smaller opening in the middle. Any sort of embellishment will also hide the hole. HTH! Oh, btw, I wholesale these...look under ribbons and more and Wholesale Fabric Flowers.

I use quilting thread and leave long tails and pull as tight as possible, I rarely have a visible whole in mine.
