I use 1/8" ribbon from Michael's. I think it was like 90 cents, maybe less. I think it's satin. It's pretty durable and easy to use. I love it!

I used to tie off but now I only sew, I get them creased better and more evenly. I refuse to get a gator bite as I like so spend my money on supplies, I know, I am horrible

I have always sewn since I first learned about bow making couple months ago. I wanted to do something better and easier but this is not easier, lol. Maybe when I try the organza. It would be faster than sewing maybe but I will have to do one of each and time myself and see which looks better.

i think the worst is wire. i tried it a million years ago when i first started.

also, there is nothing more annoying than having thread break when you are tying off a bow. make sure you use a heavy thread if you do so.

Oh yes, been there done that when i first was introduced. I think I had the crappiest, cheapest thread ever made.
